I. Guided tours of Prague

1. First time in Prague I

Length: 4 hours, consisting of a half-hour sightseeing tour by coach and a 3 1/2 hr walking tour

You’ll be given general information about the city and visit its main attraction, Prague Castle. You’ll then walk across Charles Bridge and make your way to the Old Town

2. First time in Prague II

Length: 2 × 4 hours, consisting of two half-hour sightseeing tours by coach and two 3 1/2 hr walking tours

2a: After a short coach tour, you’ll take a stroll through the narrow picturesque streets of the Old Town, stopping at the astronomical apostles’ clock on the Old Town Hall, and then cross Charles Bridge, where you can make a secret wish at its best-known statue, John the Nepomuk. The tour will finish in Wenceslas Square, the New Town’s most important square.
2b: In the afternoon, or preferably the next day, you’ll see the sights at the hill on which Prague Castle stands, including the wonderful view of “the city of a hundred spires” from the monastery at Strahov. After visiting the pilgrims’ destination of Loreto and its famous Treasure Chamber, you’ll go to Prague Castle and St.Vitus’s Cathedral, a pearl of High Gothic architecture. You’ll then walk along the exciting Golden Lane, and you’ll of course be shown the place in Prague where the 30 Years War began, the site of the Prague defenestration.

3. Prague Castle

Length: 3 hours

A broader and more in-depth option for lovers of art and history, which includes visits to all of the places open to the public (three courtyards, the Royal Palace and its Bohemian Chancellery, the site of the defenestration, St. Vitus’s Cathedral and its Royal Tomb, St. Wenceslas’s Chapel and Tower, the Powder Tower, St. George’s Basilica and Golden Lane).

4. The former Jewish Town

Length: 3 hours

The Old Jewish Cemetery is certainly worth a visit, while Rabbi Löw’s tomb deserves special attention, like the four synagogues and the gorgeous Moorish-style Spanish synagogue, whose renovation has taken many years.

5. Lesser Town and its historical gardens

Length: 3 hours

Lesser Town is one of the oldest and most interesting parts of Prague. The tour includes visits to the city’s biggest and most impressive Baroque church, St. Nicholas’s; the Church of the Virgin Mary Victorious twith the Prague Infant Jesus; the German Embassy (famous for the events of 1989); Kampa, the best of Prague’s eight islands; the Wallenstein Palace and Garden; and the famous Baroque Vrtbovská garden with its numerous statues and delightful view of Hradany.
