The spa triangle – nostalgia
and a trip to Prague

4-day tour

Day 1: Arrival in Cheb and Karlovy Vary

In Cheb, where Emperor Frederick Barbarossa had a romantic castle built in the 12th century and Imperial General Albrecht von Wallenstein was murdered in 1634, you’ll meet your guide, who will then take you on a short walking tour of this small town’s sights, after which you’ll go on to Karlovy Vary. Here, after settling into your room in a good medium-range hotel, you’ll have dinner with the rest of the group. After that we recommend an evening stroll round the town.

Day 2: Karlovy Vary – Mariánské Lázně – Karlovy Vary

There’ll be an early morning sightseeing tour on foot, when you’ll see the famous Market, Spring and Royal colonnades, the Old Russian-style St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church, St Maria Magdalena’s Church and the huge building known as The Emperor’s Bathhouse. At noon you’ll visit the Becherovka museum in the liqueur factory, where you can also taste this herbal speciality. In the afternoon there’ll be a trip to Mariánské Lázn. The guide will show you several of its springs, the main colonnade, the Goethe museum and some of the churches which are a feature of this beautiful town. The coach will then return to Karlovy Vary.

Day 3: Karlovy Vary – Prague – Karlovy Vary

Today we’ll visit Prague, the Czech Republic’s capital, often called ”the city of a hundred spires”. You’ll see the sights, many of them world-famous, by coach and on foot – for example, Hradčany and St Vitus’s Cathedral. After crossing Charles Bridge, you’ll come to the Old Town Square, famous for its astronomical apostles’ clock. The afternoon is free, and we recommend you to explore the lanes of the Old Town, where there are many churches, historic buildings and museums. In the late afternoon you’ll return to Karlovy Vary.

Day 4: Karlovy Vary – Františkovy Lázně – departure

After breakfast you’ll leave for home, but there’ll be time to stop off in Františkovy Lázně for a look around. We’ll be happy to arrange a professional guide to show you the sights.
