Historic sights of southern Poland and Prague
6-day tour
Day 1: Arrival in Wroclaw
You will arrive in Wroclaw in the morning. Your guide will be waiting for you at the hotel, where you’ll have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 2: Wroclaw – Krakow
You’ll spend the morning looking around the Silesian metropolis of Wroclaw, which lies on both banks of the River Oder. You’ll visit the Town Hall, where you’ll see its pointed and gabled roofs. It is one of Poland’s most historic buildings. Then you’ll be taken to the University, where you’ll see the unique Leopolda’s Great Hall, and after that to the town’s market, notable for its restored gable houses. Very impressive too are Sand Island, with its Maria’s Church-on-the-Sand and Cathedral Island, famous for John the Baptist’s Cathedral and its many beautiful churches. You’ll end the day in Krakow, where you’ll have dinner and stay overnight in your hotel.
Day 3: Krakow and Wawel
During today’s sightseeing tour you’ll learn more about Krakow. You’ll visit the heart of the town, its Main Market Square (best-known for its drapers’ halls), Florian’s Gate (one of the oldest town gates), the 14th century Gothic Maria’s Church and its lovely Vitus’s Altar, the Baroque St.Anna’s Church with its gorgeous stucco and frescos, the houses of the medieval merchants and Wawel Hill, where the Royal Castle overlooks the River Wisla. You’ll have dinner and stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 4: Krakow - Prague
Today on your way to Prague you’ll see the Czech Republic’s impressive countryside. During the evening you’ll be taken on a tour of the city centre’s sights. The after-dark illuminations will show you another side of the city. You’ll have dinner and stay overnight at your Prague hotel.
Day 5: Prague
In the morning you‘ll see the city‘s sights by coach and on foot: Prague Castle at Hradčany, for example, including the Theresa wing, reopened after 55 years, the Loreto Church, St Vitus’s Cathedral, the Lesser Town’s picturesque Neruda Street and the Old Town Square, famous for its astronomical apostles’ clock. The afternoon’s free, and in the evening we’ll offer you one of the many entertainments listed under Additional Services.
Day 6: Prague – departure
After breakfast you’ll leave for home.
